This summer Perpetuum Mobile is co-organising a colloquium in Split, Croatia, in co-ordination with Alternative Cultures: “Art & Resistance”
Art & Resistance The aim of this colloquium is to examine the possibilities and limits of art’s political potential at the present time. Venäjän merivoimien kuoron ja yleisön performanssi Kiasmassa

Perjantaina 16. marraskuuta Kiasmassa Venäjän merivoimien “Gardes-Marine” kuoron ja yleisön “another cage” – performanssissa jaksottuvat neuvostokuorolaulu ja John Cagen 4′33″. Yleisön ja kuoron välittäjinä toimivat taitelija Sergei Bugaev ja kuraattorit Ivor Stodolsky ja Marita Muukkonen. Yleisö on tervetullut tuomaan performanssiin kännyköittensä ohella kaikenlaisia ääni-, valokuvaus- sekä videolaitteita. Performanssi alkaa kello 13.30.

“another cage” -performanssi liittyy 30. marraskuuta 2007 Kiasmassa avautuvaan RAAKA, KÄSITELTY JA PAKETOITU – Perestroika taiteen arkistot –näyttelyyn. Näyttely on osa Helsingissä järjestettävää tapahtumien sarjaa, joka on omistettu Perestroikalle: sen historialle, perinnölle ja impulsseille, joita se voisi antaa tulevaisuuden kehityskuluille. Tapahtumien keskiössä on Aleksanteri-instituutin kansainvälinen konferenssi REVISITING PERESTROIKA – Processes and Alternatives 29. marraskuuta – 1. joulukuuta. 2007. Konferenssissa pureudutaan sellaisiin laajoihin kysymyksiin kuin oliko Perestroika vallankumous? Vai oliko se vastavallankumous? Mikä on sen tämänhetkinen perintö entisellä Neuvostoalueella, niin kutsutussa lännessä ja alueilla, jotka tunnettiin joskus “sitoutumattomina”? Onko uuden perestroikan aika?
